Autumn 2008 C&I Colloquium

All C&I masters students are invited to attend the Autumn 2008 C&I Colloquium on November 20th, 7:00 PM in Miller Hall 112.

The C&I Colloquium is a unique feature of the masters program in Curriculum and Instruction. At this presentation, students completing their programs present and talk with faculty and peers about their culminating masters projects or theses and portfolios (students who elect the exam instead of completing the project or thesis present exemplary samples of their course work during the program).

Your attendance at this presentation will count toward the C&I master's program requirement to attend two Colloquia — once as an observer so you can see the process and the range of projects students complete, and once as a presenter.

To observe or participate in the Colloquium please call 206 543-1847 or email edci@u.washington.edu by November 18th to let us know if you will be attending or presenting.

Faculty and Students work on Mathematics Education Project

The Mathematics Education Project (MEP) is the outgrowth of three projects funded by the National Science Foundation--Creating a Community of Mathematics Learners (CCML), Expanding a Community of Mathematics Learners (ECML) and Strategic Organization, Assistance & Resources for Washington Mathematics (SOAR). Through these projects, a community of educators from schools and the University of Washington gained extensive knowledge of research-based professional development resources, the art of facilitation, teacher leadership development, strategies for working with administrators and parents, and factors that contribute to sustainability of change. Through the MEP, this mathematics community intends to reach out to other communities in the state and region.
