Exemplary Masters Projects

As the culminating experience of their masters degree, Curriculum & Instruction students may choose to complete a masters project instead of a thesis or a written exam. Unlike the thesis, which typically is an empirical or conceptual study, the project entails the production, improvement, and/or evaluation of a product intended for use by practicing educators. Examples include:

  • Developing a new educational technology
  • Developing a middle school mathematics curriculum
  • Revising an existing remedial reading program
  • Pilot testing an existing instruction program
  • Developing and pilot testing curriculum materials
  • Evaluating a school's multicultural curriculum
  • Writing a teacher's manual for leading educational tours abroad

Typically, this option is selected by those who plan to pursue careers as practitioners. Here we showcase exemplary masters projects selected by our faculty.
