Some logistics: To participate in this program and travel to Italy as a student, you will need to apply for an Italian student visa through the Consulate General of Italy. Please begin working on the Italian Student Visa application packet by visiting the International Programs & Exchanges (IPE) website and downloading application materials.

Please note that the deadline for Early Fall Quarter visa applications is Monday May19, 2008. Please turn your application packet in to the IPE, room 459 Schmitz Hall (open Mon - Fri, 10am to 4pm). Your passport and application will be FedEx'd to the consulate in San Francisco. Passports with visa stamps will be sent back after they have been processed. You will be notified via email once your passport has been rerurned.
If you do not already have a passport, you will need to apply for one *as soon as possible.* You can apply for expedited service. You are not able to receive a student visa unless you have a valid passport physically in hand. You can get information about applying for a passport from the U.S. Department of State website (or the equivalent in your home country if you are not a U.S. citizen).
Again, if you do not have a passport or you are renewing your current passport, please take care of this immediately.
