Thomas Halverson
Lecturer, Educational Leadership & Policy Studies
Dr. Halverson teaches and researches in the areas of comparative and international education, education policy and policymaking, organizational and leadership studies, and issues of access to post-secondary education. Currently, he is involved in a joint research project with Zayed University in Dubai, UAE, exploring the development of a program designed to prepare female, Muslim teachers for positions of leadership in their schools. He is also studying the early identification and development of “college bound” social networks for parents of low income, under-represented, and first generation college- bound 4th and 5th graders in Washington State.
Dr. Halverson is also the Director and Lead Faculty of The College Access Project, a non profit organization which serves to increase post-secondary educational opportunities and access for 1st generation college bound, under-represented populations, and low income students in Washington State.
