Professional Expectations for Students in the TEP Program

Responsibilities to K-6 Students

  • Treat all students with dignity.
  • Maintain privacy and confidentiality.
  • Regard as paramount the physical and emotional safety of students.
  • Where a student's health or safety is threatened, individual confidentiality cannot be respected

Responsibilities to the TEP Faculty, Staff, and Cohort

  • Treat your field placement schools, field faculty and course instructors with respect.
  • Attend and participate in all scheduled university classes and field assignments.
  • Plan for instruction and observation in a timely manner.
  • Participate actively in community building and live up to the cohort norms.

Responsibilities to the Profession

  • Be an honest conveyer of knowledge.
  • Maintain a respectful professional distance from your students and their families.
  • Be honest about your qualifications and those of others.
  • Be professional in behavior, demeanor and appearance.
