Professional Expectations for Students in the TEP Program
Responsibilities to K-6 Students
- Treat all students with dignity.
- Maintain privacy and confidentiality.
- Regard as paramount the physical and emotional safety of students.
- Where a student's health or safety is threatened, individual confidentiality cannot be respected
Responsibilities to the TEP Faculty, Staff, and Cohort
- Treat your field placement schools, field faculty and course instructors with respect.
- Attend and participate in all scheduled university classes and field assignments.
- Plan for instruction and observation in a timely manner.
- Participate actively in community building and live up to the cohort norms.
Responsibilities to the Profession
- Be an honest conveyer of knowledge.
- Maintain a respectful professional distance from your students and their families.
- Be honest about your qualifications and those of others.
- Be professional in behavior, demeanor and appearance.
