Secondary Teacher Education Program (STEP) Hub

Welcome to the STEP Hub. This is your place, created to support you during your UW TEP journey as a teacher candidate. Our program themes integrate coursework and field experiences emphasizing the application of best practices and research. student teacher with young studentOur goal is to prepare you to become an effective classroom teacher who can enable your students to attain their highest potential. Your journey leads to teacher certification in four quarters with an additional six credits to complete the Masters degree during the first year of teaching.

The STEP Hub will provide you with information you will need throughout this program and beyond.  In the STEP Hub:

  • You will find an overview and detailed information about your coursework and fieldwork (see the link for your cohort at right)
  • You will find information about policies and standards that guide the program
  • You will find descriptions and links to program related assessment and evaluation information
  • You are not alone!  The team at the College of Education is here to support you on this journey and beyond.
  • You will find a wealth of resources to support you as a teacher, both during and after your time in TEP
