Getting Started

Talk to the helpful folks in the Office of Student Services and the Office of Teacher Education about becoming a middle or high school teacher!

1. Get started by getting general information.

  • Attend an information session information session 1 offered several times a quarter.

  • If you are unable to attend an information session, you may request an MIT information packet by calling (206) 543-7834, email edinfo@u.washington.edu or stop by 206 Miller.

2. Check endorsement coursework status

  • Secondary applicants must contact the appropriate department advisor to get their coursework evaluated using the Endorsement Evaluation form. Please refer to the Endorsement sheet in the MIT packet for department information and locations.

3. Get specific questions answered/Stay on track!

At anytime after reviewing the information and getting coursework evaluated for the MIT program, you may speak with someone to get your questions answered about applying.

  • In person: 15 minute drop in appointments are available every Wednseday from 3-5pm in 206 Miller Hall. These are on a first come, first served basis and are for the MIT program only.

  • Set up an appointment: Please email paulajw@u.washington.edu to schedule an appointment for questions you have about the MIT program.
