With a focus on diversity and social justice, the UW College of Education Office of Minority Recruitment and Retention is committed to equity and access for all students.
Educators for Social Justice (ESJ)
Educators for Social Justice (ESJ) advocates for awareness, understanding, and action within the College of Education and the field of education, as well as in the community. This studentgroup promotes and advocates for multiculturalism throughout the College with the goal of increasing the ethnic and racial diversity of educators who work in common schools, colleges, and universities while building a supportive and dynamic College community.
Center for Multicultural Education
The Center for Multicultural Education focuses on research projects and activities designed to improve practice related to equity issues, intergroup relations, and the achievement of all students.
Dr. James A. Banks, the Kerry and Linda Killinger Professor of Diversity Studies and an award-winning multicultural education scholar and pioneer, is the Director of the Center.
