Timeline for those selected as Noyce Teaching Scholars:

Winter of 2009:

Announcement of new Noyce Teaching Scholars.

Spring of 2009:

Noyce Teaching Scholars begin the University of Washington Teacher Education Program. Coursework and intensive field experiences begin in Seattle area high–needs schools.

Throughout teacher preparation program, Noyce Teaching Scholars receive mentoring by faculty members in prospective teaching discipline, participate in Noyce seminars.

End of Winter 2010:

Noyce Teaching Scholars graduate, seek employment in local high needs middle or high schools.

Academic year 2010-2011:

Noyce Scholars participate in regular induction activities that support early career development. Continue contact with UW faculty on regular basis. Participate in evaluation activities for program.

Continuing support:

Noyce Teaching Scholars become part of growing community of scholarship recipients over the next four years. Continue participation in special topics seminars and take up mentoring roles for new Noyce Scholars.
