Specific Admissions Requirements by Program: Doctoral Degrees

Admissions requirements vary by program. Find your program of interest to see specific information for programs of interest to you.

Curriculum & Instruction (PhD/EdD)

All PhD/EdD programs

GRE General Test; background in subject field and education; resume/vita; 3 letters of recommendation; sample of scholarly writing; goal statement.

Educational Leadership & Policy Studies (PhD/EdD/Cert)

Leadership for Learning Program (EdD/Cert)

Masters degree or equivalent; Min.3.0 GPA; GRE General Test; resume/vita; 3 letters of recommendation re: academic and/or professional work; goal statement; samples of scholarly writing. Certification-only applicants please use the same application procedures, selecting "doctoral" or "Ed.D" when asked to choose a degree program during the application process. All other PhD/EdD programs

Masters degree or equivalent; Min.3.0 GPA; GRE General Test; resume/vita; 3 letters of recommendation re: academic and/or professional work; 4-5 page (1000-1250-word) goal statement; samples of scholarly writing.
