Project Title: Project DATA (Developmentally Appropriate Treatment for Autism)

COE Investigator: Ilene Schwartz

Funding Source: Office of Special Education Program, US Department of Education; Seattle Public Schools; Mercer Island Public Schools

Start/End Dates: 10/1997 - Ongoing

The purpose of this project is to develop, implement, evaluate, and disseminate effective and sustainable interventions for young children with autism. The DATA project combines best practices from early childhood special education and applied behavior analysis to produce effective intervention strategies that can be implemented in classrooms, intensive instructional settings, and community settings. We work with families and school district personnel to provide effective services to children with autism and their families and to increase the capacity of districts in Washington State to meet the needs of children with autism spectrum disorder.
