A Note from Dean Mia Tuan
Dear CoE Graduate Students,
Fall quarter is upon us and I wanted to send a personal note of welcome (or welcome back) before we kick into high gear. If this were a typical fall I might see you in passing at Miller Hall, exchange greetings, and share a few words of encouragement and excitement. You might hear music wafting over from the Music School (our neighbor to the east) as students practice or catch a glimpse of magnificent Mount Rainier as you walk through Red Square, reminding you that we live in an extraordinary part of the world. Alas, this is no typical fall and in person greetings will have to wait until we cleared to come to campus. In the meantime, please know that I am sending you well wishes and hopes for a good start to the term. Remember to tend to your overall wellness and practice self-care! We are living in historic times and the next few months will undoubtedly test everyone’s nerves, resolve, patience, and humanity. Please lean on your College of Education community — we’re here to support you in mind, body, and soul!
Who’s who in the Office of Student Services?
The Office of Student Services is here to help you throughout your studies in the College of Education. We provide navigational support to students along their journey to completion. We provide academic advising to support your progress and to connect you with other UW services when necessary, we are ready to support your success!
On a typical orientation day we’d be together in Miller Hall and one day (soon) we hope to be back together as a Husky family again. Until then, see below for brief insights from OSS Graduate support staff:
