Khatami Chau (he/they) is a first generation college senior at the University of Washington (UW). He is currently pursuing a double major in Education, Communities and Organizations (ECO) and American Ethnic Studies (AES), as well as minoring in Diversity. Born in Vietnam, on their ancestral lands of Champa, Khatami is a 1.5 generation Cham immigrant who later settled in unincorporated White Center in Seattle, Washington, on traditional lands of the Duwamish and Coast Salish peoples. He is most passionate about community organizing, antimilitarism, labor justice, and empowerment of all oppressed peoples. Outside of academia, you could find Khatami performing spoken word. He often frequents his curated gallery of essential oil collections, doing sunset strolls, and video gaming with his friends and siblings. He is currently ecstatic about being able to learn how to whip up traditional Cham dishes with his mom.
