Interim Director of Marketing and Communications
Candice is a marketing and communications professional with a background in diverse for-profit and non-profit businesses. She joined the University of Washington in September 2008 as the Director of Marketing and Communications for the College of Arts & Sciences. In June of 2018, she became Interim Chief of Marketing and Communications for the School of Nursing and in January 2019 she became the Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, Assistant Dean for the UW School of Nursing. She retired from the UW in 2020 but, continues to provide marketing and communications support to the University on a part-time basis and is currently serving as the Interim Marketing and Communications Director at the UW’s College of Education.
Prior to working in higher education, Candice held marketing and communications positions in the professional services industry, biotechnology (cancer drug development), and the largest operating foundation dedicated to improving the lives of youth in foster care. She also has experience as a litigation paralegal and a court reporter.
Candice has broad marketing and communications experience from messaging to preparing executives for interviews, to organizing Congressional briefings and media briefings at the National Press Club, to conducting media buys both locally, regionally, and nationally, to launching products in Europe and the U.S., and leading a national awareness campaign. She enjoys collaborating with colleagues and focuses on getting as much visibility for their work as possible.
