Position Description
At Seattle Universal Math Museum (SUMM) educators work in a collaborative team environment and are responsible for implementing SUMM’s hands-on math programs in ways that are inclusive, joyful, and accessible to diverse communities. Educators run lessons, facilitate open-ended math play, support volunteers, and help bring the magic of math to families across the greater Seattle region. Educators may also have opportunities to contribute to the design and planning of programs, depending on skills and availability.
The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic, reliable educator who enjoys helping children and families discover the joy in math. They are confident leading both structured lessons and open-ended exploration, comfortable managing groups, and able to work independently as well as with volunteers. They communicate clearly, stay organized, and bring strong accountability to their work. They are equity-minded, adaptable to different community settings, and willing to travel across the Seattle area to deliver high-quality, hands-on math experiences that reflect SUMM’s mission.
