Could you share a brief reflection on your time at the College of Education?
I can think of plenty of boring, behind the scenes changes that affected the whole community. For example, we had our own authorization system for some computers that weren't integrated with the University. I'm glad that is long gone!
What achievements or contributions are you most proud of during your time here?
It is challenging to take credit for one particular goal. I think the technology team works well together. Most of our successful projects were done with putting many parts together. It was never just one brain working alone.
What will you miss the most about working at the College of Education?
I'll miss having a student team. They breathe such a fresh insight with their knowledge and curiosity. I think today's UW students are the brightest, most driven generation. It gives me satisfaction to see them graduate and leave the university with so much skill.
What are your plans or aspirations for the future?
I'm looking forward to taking more personal time. Especially for family and hobbies. I have always had many different personal projects. I've always wanted a pilot's license. It's not surprising, but I love creative problem-solving.
Is there a message or piece of advice you would like to share with your colleagues and the College community?
It has been heartwarming to see the work that the College does to help the local districts and schools. I think the research our faculty and support staff do is hard to measure.
