Noam Soker Heist, Stewardship and Events Manager at the Haring Center
About me: I love education! I tutored, taught 4th grade in Eastern North Carolina through Teach for America and worked on educational programs with community organizations and family foundations. I came to UW for my MPA and now serve as Stewardship and Events Manager at the Haring Center (HC).
What I love about working at the COE:
The HC feels electric, filled with joy, friendships and people making inclusive education real.
A recent ‘small win’:
A researcher asking how to sign up to help with the HC Auction, I’m grateful for everyone’s excitement to volunteer!
What’s bringing me joy right now:
Walking on the treadmill while reading a good book! If you like historical fiction or the movie Imitation Game I highly recommend "The Rose Code" by Kate Quinn.
A shout-out to:
The HC Staff! We're a bit removed from Miller Hall, but we’re so proud to be part of the CoE.
Favorite holiday tradition, movie, recipe, book or activity I recommend:
Food is my love language, and I love making Kanelsnurrer, a Norwegian Twisted Cinnamon Buns, especially in the winter!
